It is known for exploring wide range of birds by the touristswhich migrate from different parts of the India. Interestingly, safari is available to ensure the tourists for better coverage.
Location: Placed near Saman village, Mainpuri district in the western part of Uttar Pradesh
Specification: Scattered by an area of 526 hectares of which 290 hectares are bounded by wetlands and the rest with grassland.
Introduction: The Saman Sanctuary was established in the year 1990. It is known for bird safari where tourists can explore wide ranges of birds migrating from different regions. The sanctuary is composed of natural rain fed lake that drains during summer and eight villages within the sanctuary.
Flora and Fauna: Hydrophyte vegetation includes Nelumbo, Typha, Phragmites, Cyperus and giant tree Ficus. Wild species include Mongoose, Jackals, and Hare. Birds like Sarus Crane, Greater Spotted Eagle, Common Teal, Lesser Whistling Duck, Black-necked Stork, Northern Pintail, and Great White Pelican can be found in Saman Sanctuary.
Best time to visit: November to February is the ideal time to visit the sanctuary.
